Carrington Juniors Awarded Gold Sports Award - again!

We are delighted to announce that Carrington Junior School has achieved the School Games Gold Mark Award for the 2023/24 academic year.

This is the second year running that we are awarded the Gold Award.

The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.

Our sporting achievements this year include:

- Both the Girls and the Mixed Netball Teams winning their division.
- The Year 6 Boys Football Team ending the season in runners up spot after going unbeaten in every single game they played.
- 50 children participating in the Wye Valley Athletics competition.
- Many of our children taking part in Marlow area Athletics Festival, Marlow area Tennis Festival and Marlow area Cricket Festival.

As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year.

With many young people competing in local inter-school competitions this year, we are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport. We are also very grateful to our staff for driving such a rich PE experience for our children, and a special thank you goes to Mr Meakin, our PE teacher.

We are looking forward to another great year of sports at Carrington Juniors!
