Message from the Co-Chairs of Governors

At the Carrington Schools Federation (comprising Carrington Infant School and Carrington Junior School), governors, staff, parents, and children work together in an inclusive, happy, creative, and caring environment. Our schools strive to inspire and instil a love of learning that will last a lifetime.

The governing board is involved with our schools at every strategic level. This includes finance, safeguarding, premises management and senior staff appointments. As Governors, we consider our most important role to be the safety, welfare and education of our pupils.

The Carrington Schools Federation has high expectations for all pupils across both schools. We are very proud of them and love to hear about their successes. In good schools, such as ours, staff, parents and governors take a great interest in the children’s learning and development. From the early years to becoming secondary school ready, the academic, personal, social and creative skills are nurtured and developed.

Governors are appointed to ensure that objectives are met, and that future planning is both visionary and realistic. We provide strategic direction for the improvement of the school; monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the school; and hold the school to account for the standards achieved and the quality of education.

We are here to support and encourage our Head Teachers, their Senior Leadership Teams and all staff to ensure that every child has access to an enriched education and to all the opportunities that they deserve.

Governors come from many different backgrounds. People from the local community, education, business professionals and parents all sit on the current board. We meet 9 times a year and we visit the school as often as possible, with each governor taking responsibility for a strategic area. We are a passionate board that truly cares about The Carrington Schools Federation, and thus helps us be as impactful as possible.
